Creating sustainable cities and communitiesPublished: 2019-02-18 02:24
Essity has 11 different sites in the UK comprising of three office buildings, six manufacturing sites, and two distribution centres. From Bedfordshire to Manchester, from Skelmersdale to Flintshire, and from Northumberland to Hull, we have sites up and down the country that are part and parcel of every day life for many local communities.
Part of being a responsible and sustainable company is not only about looking after your employees’ wants and needs while they’re at work, but also caring about their passions and the things they care about outside of work. And it’s not just about employees, companies can only thrive in the communities and environments where they are based if those communities and environments thrive alongside them.
This month I’ve visited all of our manufacturing sites in the UK where we’ve been speaking to the employees that help make sure we support our local communities. This is all part of the work we’re doing to establish who we are and what we do. We are a hygiene and health company, and we make great products that improve lives every day, but we’re also a company that has certain beliefs and behaviours and it’s this second part that I’ve been working to bring to life lately.
Last year Essity employees in the UK raised over £45,000 for local charities, community organisations, and volunteer groups through our employee charity fund. Watch this short film to find out more.
